Inverclyde curling news

The opening of a new season is always an exciting time. Old rivalries resume, new teams take to the ice and clubs welcome back familiar faces while encouraging new players to experience curling for the first time.
The season ahead will include club competitions and leagues, together with the Clyde Coast League, the Super League and the many other fixtures and events that bring curlers together from across Inverclyde and the surrounding areas.
Clubs regularly participating at the Waterfront and in associated competitions include Largs Thistle, Ardgowan, Port Glasgow, Dumbarton, Dunoon, Gourock, Gourock Ladies, Greenock Ladies and Newark, along with many other clubs, teams and individual curlers who contribute to our local game.
Every club has its own history and identity, but we all share the same wish to see curling remain active, welcoming and enjoyable. The continued support of club officials, match secretaries, coaches, volunteers, ice staff and everyone who helps organise teams and competitions is greatly appreciated.
Throughout the season, the Inverclyde Curling website and the Chronicle will provide a place for clubs to share their news, results, league tables, photographs and forthcoming events. We would encourage every club to contribute. Whether it is an important competition result, a presentation evening, a new member’s first game, an anniversary, an old photograph or simply an enjoyable evening on the ice, we would be delighted to hear about it.
The Chronicle belongs to the whole local curling community. Regular contributions from different clubs will help keep it interesting, celebrate the people involved in the sport and introduce curling to a wider audience.
We hope the coming season brings competitive games, close finishes, good friendship and plenty of memorable moments both on and off the ice.
Best wishes to every team and participant for the new season.
Good curling to everyone!
If your club has news, photographs, results or an event to publicise, please send them through the Inverclyde Curling website for inclusion in the Chronicle.
