Ardgowan Curling Club returned to the ice on Monday evening for the start of the new season. After the summer break, it was a welcome chance for members to catch up, pick up their brushes and stones, and enjoy curling together again.
There was plenty of concentration on the ice, along with the chat and good humour that make a club night so enjoyable. The photographs capture both sides of the evening, from the shots being played to the conversations between ends.
The opening night competition was won by Peter Allwood’s rink, who finished nine shots up. Peter was joined by Colin McDougall, Ewen McGregor and Shaun Lining. Congratulations to the winning rink, and thanks to everyone who took part and helped make it such an enjoyable start to the season.
Attention now turns to the Clyde Coast League, which begins next week. Ardgowan’s players are looking forward to meeting the other clubs, renewing friendly rivalries and enjoying another season of curling.
