Preparations for the new 2026/27 curling season are already well under way at the Inverclyde Leisure Waterfront, where the ice team has been working hard to prepare the rink.
The preparations received an international touch when the Disney Cruise Line ship Disney Dream docked at Greenock Ocean Terminal.
Twelve passengers from the ship visited the Waterfront to participate in a special Come and Try Curling session. For many of them, it was their first opportunity to step onto the ice and experience one of Scotland’s most traditional sports.
The visitors were introduced to the basics of delivering a stone, sweeping and working together as a curling team. A good time was had by all, with plenty of encouragement, laughter and friendly competition on the ice.
The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase curling and the warm welcome available to visitors in Inverclyde. It was also an excellent start to preparations for the forthcoming 2026/27 season.
