Try Curling at the Waterfront – New Sessions Announced

Looking to try something new? Curling could be for you!

Inverclyde Leisure has announced a new programme of Try Curling sessions at the Waterfront Leisure Complex in Greenock, giving local people the opportunity to experience one of Scotland’s most traditional and enjoyable sports.

No previous curling experience is required. All the necessary curling equipment is provided, and the sessions are led by qualified curling coaches who will introduce participants to delivering and sweeping a stone, how the game is played and the basic rules and scoring.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 — 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm
Thursday 24 September 2026 — 10:00 am to 11:45 am
Monday 28 September 2026 — 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm
Tuesday 29 September 2026 — 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm
Thursday 1 October 2026 — 10:00 am to 11:45 am
Tuesday 6 October 2026 — 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm
Tuesday 6 October 2026 — 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm
Thursday 8 October 2026 — 10:00 am to 11:45 am

The cost is £10.50 per person, payable at reception on arrival.

What should you bring?

All curling equipment is supplied. Participants should wear warm, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and bring a clean pair of trainers to change into before going onto the ice.

The ice rink is maintained at a low temperature, so warm layers are recommended.

Come along and give curling a try

These sessions are intended to be friendly, welcoming and enjoyable. You can come with a friend, attend as a family or come on your own and meet new people.

There is no obligation to continue after the session. However, if you enjoy the experience, the Waterfront Curling Development Group can introduce you to a suitable local curling club and help you take the next step.
